200 MW turbine generation systems

MEI played an important role in the manufacture of iK Series Industrial Battery Chargers, Inverters and Battery Bank for the protection systems of 200 MG gas turbine generators, distinguishing as the most popular advanced class in the world and in Mexico; which will power the industrial sites of Monterrey and Topolobampo through Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems.

In total, there are three combined cycle plants that will provide 2.6 GigaWatts of generation capacity, allowing them to be highly reliable and efficient, producing the most economical and environmentally friendly thermal energy in Mexico.

The new order for the combined cycle power plant of 850 MG is part of a strategic plan to supply electricity to Mexico’s growing energy market. The turbines are scheduled to be delivered in 2018 and commercial operation is expected to begin in 2019.
